Leitrim GAA officials have decided to call off this weekend's senior and intermediate football championship semi-finals due to the All-Ireland SFC semi-final replay being scheduled for Saturday evening.

A lot of counties have rescheduled their club games around the Mayo/Dublin clash, but Leitrim have opted to postpone their semi-finals until the following weekend, September 12th and 13th.

Clubs were informed of the county board's decision late on Monday night, but a round of league games have been scheduled for Saturday evening at 7pm.

This means that any clubs having to travel to games will miss the end of the clash in Croker, which begs the question, why postpone the championship games in the first place?
