Kerry unfazed by replay

Selector's Diarmuid Murphy and Mikey Sheehy with manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice

Kerry selector Mikey Sheehy admits that the replay between Mayo and Dublin doesn't really affect their preparations for the All-Ireland SFC final.

The footballers of Mayo and Dublin must do it all again after they played out an exciting draw last Sunday and Kerry could be forgiven for wanting to know who their opponents will be in the decider.

With so much emphasis being placed on stopping teams from implementing their game plan, Kerry could be forgiven for being frustrated by the draw, however, Sheehy told the Kerryman that is not the case.

"It really doesn't affect us at all," said Sheehy. "In the real world, you'd have preferred coming down the motorway last Sunday knowing who you were facing, rather than having to head back to Dublin on Saturday.

"Basically, it's two sessions extra we have to train without knowing who we will be facing. We'll train Tuesday and Thursday this week, and we've pushed our Saturday morning session back to Sunday. Two sessions won't make much difference in the overall scheme."
