Walsh: scoreline was harsh on us

Kevin Walsh felt Donegal's 10-point winning margin didn't do Galway any justice.

"I don't think it reflects our season, it's disappointing. We were fighting for that game when it mattered… for the last few minutes, we left ourselves exposed at the back, going out to try to get the game back," the Galway manager said.

"Maybe there are certain teams out there that would stick to defence all day and be happy to lose by three or four points. But that's not in this team. We want out to try and win the game. We felt we were going to win the game."

The two-time All-Ireland winning midfielder was left to rue a couple of missed chances early in the second half.

"We missed two chances after half-time when we had them on the rack.

"In the middle of the field, we couldn't get our hands on the breaks. They got their second goal and it's very hard to pull back on a good team."
