McCusker: Dubs have unfair advantage

Declan McCusker has added to the chorus of calls for Dublin to be made play some of their championship games outside Croke Park.

The All-Ireland favourites haven't played a championship game outside Croker since travelling to Longford in 2006, and the Fermanagh star argues that their familiarity with the venue - and Hawk-Eye - is a big advantage to them.

"It is a big change for us to be playing in Croke Park, whereas they're playing in it every championship game," McCusker said in the Irish Sun ahead of Sunday's All-Ireland SFC quarter-final.

"I don't think any team should get to play every at home, it doesn't matter who it is.

"It is the only pitch in the country that has Hawk-Eye. That means every other team can get a bad call, but Dublin never get a bad call against them because they always have Hawk-Eye to back them up.

"A couple of years ago against Cavan, we were told we weren't allowed balls behind the goals to hit quick kick-outs but then Chris Snow, the 'keeper at the time, said, 'that's a disgrace because Dublin are allowed to do it and Cluxton gets it at Croke Park'."

The Ederney man is nevertheless looking forward to testing himself against Jim Gavin's men.

"Dublin are the boys you're watching every August and September. It will be interesting to put yourself up against them and see how we can get on," he added.
