Liam Dunne was coy on his future as Wexford senior hurling manager following last night's qualifier exit at the hands of Cork.

When quizzed on the subject by Sky Sports, the 1996 All-Ireland winner answered: "That's not for today.

"I've one more year but these contracts are never signed! You could be here today and gone tomorrow but, look it, it's been four years, there's a huge amount of work after going into it

"You meet Kilkenny and Cork in the championship, you have to be on your A game to progress and we weren't good enough today."

The Model County's decision to play against the wind in the first-half despite having won the toss came back to haunt them at the final whistle as they trailed by 14 points at the change of ends.

"I didn't actually know whether we won or lost the toss so it didn't make any difference to me really, I let the players make that decision.

"But, unfortunately, Cork built up a big lead on us and it was an uphill battle from there to get back but, in fairness to the players, in the second-half I thought they fought hard but we needed to get a goal in the second-half to really make a game of it.

"I think we got it back to six points at one stage but that took a mighty effort."
