Michael Rice has been named at centre forward on the Kilkenny intermediate hurling team to face Galway in this evening's Leinster semi-final at O'Connor Park.
The Carrickshock man recently made his return to the Kilkenny senior side in a challenge match against Limerick following a long injury layoff and could yet have a key role to play for Brian Cody's charges in their quest to retain the Liam MacCarthy Cup. Wexford await the winners of tonight's game in the provincial final.
Kilkenny (IH v Galway): Kevin Nolan; Eoin Moriarty, Pauric Gahan (captain), Sean Phelan; Andy Kearns, Owen McGrath, Luke Harney; Johnny Hayes, Kevin Blanchfield; Liam Blanchfield, Michael Rice, Billy Ryan; Ger Malone, Rory Hickey, Shane Donnelly.
