Mayo goalkeeper David Clarke faces a race against time to be fit for the Connacht SFC final.

The defending champions put their title on the line against Sligo on July 19th and first choice 'keeper Clarke suffered a groin injury in training last week.

He was forced to sit out his club's Ballina Stephenite's SFC win over Ballaghaderreen at the weekend and there is a genuine concern that he may not return in time for the provincial decider.

Clarke missed the 2013 Connacht final through injury and lost his place for the remainder of the year to Robbie Hennelly.

In better news for Mayo supporters, Andy Moran, Cillian O'Connor, Kevin Keane, Alan Dillon and Tom Cunniffe all returned from injury to line out with their clubs at the weekend.
