Three into two doesn't go

Kerry manager Eamonn Kelly faces a selection headache as he must choose from three in-form midfielders for Saturday's Christy Ring Cup final.

Regular centrefielder Pat Kelly missed the semi-final victory over Kildare due to club commitments with Clarecastle, while his replacement John Egan came in and delivered a sterling display, as did John Griffin.

Ideally, Kelly would like to be able to squeeze all three men into his starting XV for the All-Ireland final against Derry at Croke Park:

"I thought they went well," he says of Egan and Griffin in The Kerryman. "John Egan chipped in with a few points. John is very versatile in midfield and 'Tweaky' [Griffin] is ever-present. But a lot of the game did bypass it (midfield).

"It probably will be similar in Croke Park but it's about being there to pick up the breaks if it is bypassed and 'Tweaky' does a lot of that and John got three or four points from play.

"It's a big decision to be made now. We'll have to see where we're going with that. Pat has been, I mean there's no guy in Kerry more committed than he is. We had a recovery session at 10am on Sunday morning and he was there again. He absolutely loves hurling with Kerry and we've a big decision to make, whatever way we go I don't know yet."
