"Today has put a dampener on league for us"

Brian Cuthbert admits Cork's heavy defeat to Dublin was a disappointing way to end the Allianz League.

The Rebels could only manage 1-1 from play as they crashed to a 2-7 to 1-21 Division 1 final loss to three-in-a-row champions Dublin.

"We never really got going at all to be fair, Dublin were far superior in every facet," the Cork manager conceded on RTE Radio's 'Sunday Sport'.

"Overall, we have had a very good league, but today has put a dampener on a lot of good work. Once they got their noses in front they were able to drive on and we weren't able to cope.

"We made a lot of mistakes that were unforced and when you do that against good teams, you are going to be under pressure.

"Whether we won the league today or lost, it didn't really affect where we are going to next. We have seven or eight weeks to prepare for Limerick or Clare.

"Today was disappointing, we didn't play and we didn't get ourselves up to the speed of the game."
