Offaly's Thomas Geraghty in action for Kilcormac/Killoughey. INPHO

Kilcormac/Killoughey began their quest for a four-in-a-row of Offaly SHC titles with an emphatic 3-16 to 0-8 win over Brosna Gaels last night.

Despite missing Ciaran Slevin and Conor Mahon, the champions had things very much their own way. Goals from Cillian Kiely and Thomas Geraghty helped them to a 2-10 to 0-4 half-time lead, with Shane Guinan adding a third in the second half.

Elsewhere, Shinrone edged out Kinnitty 2-17 to 1-19 in a thriller, while Ballinamere won the battle of the last two intermediate champions when accounting for neighbours Shamrocks by 1-17 to 0-17.

The big game today is the meeting of former kingpins Coolderry and Birr in Shinrone.
