Ryan: Massive dogfight ahead

Kildare manager Jason Ryan.

Kildare manager Jason Ryan admits that they have four massive games left in the league.

Last weekend's surprise defeat to Westmeath was Kildare's third consecutive loss in the Division 2 campaign and the pressure is now on to avoid the drop.

Ryan accepts that it is going to be a tough few weeks given that three of the four games are away from home.

Speaking to the Leinster Leader he said: "Regardless of what happened last Sunday, the remaining games were all going to be dogfights.

"We have four massive games and out of the four games three are away so it's a massive challenge. To have played two games at home and not got anything out of them is hard to take.

"But you have to get up and go on with it. If we start to feel sorry for ourselves well then we'll go to Cavan in the wrong frame of mind. We go there in the wrong frame of mind well then it will be a long journey back to Kildare."
