Brian Cuthbert was accentuating the positives after Cork surrendered their unbeaten Allianz League record in Ballyshannon.

The Rebels were left to rue not making better use of the strong wind which favoured them in the first half as their late comeback fell just short.

"It was a difficult game. The conditions had a huge factor on the game and I suppose Michael Murphy's sending off had a huge factor too," the Cork manager told RTE.

"We leave here a bit disappointed, but I suppose we showed good character and spirit to come back in a game that we were not doing quite so well in the middle period of the second. I'm happy enough in lots of ways but disappointed.

"We had a lot of chances in the first half and we just didn't take them. The final pass didn't go to hand and it was very important that the final pass went to hand today [because of the conditions].

"Going in level 0-5 each after playing with the wind wasn't a good position but sometimes it's easier to play against the wind when you're playing Donegal and I think we showed in the good enough spirit in the second half, but not good enough."
