Martin Reilly's last-gasp '45' earned Cavan a 0-14 to 1-11 draw with Roscommon at Kiltoom.

Reilly kept his composure to score on the stroke of full time and ensure a fair outcome in a match that neither side deserved to lose.

There was little between the teams in the opening period but Cathal Creggs's twelfth-minute major meant that the hosts carried a narrow 1-5 to 0-6 advantage into the interval.

Martin Dunne and Diarmuid Murtagh traded early frees and Ciaran Murtagh arrowed over the first score from play before Cregg's major handed the home team a four-point cushion.

Reilly, Dunne and Dara McVeety replied with scores for the Ulster county before the Rossies pulled away again with points from Diarmuid (2) and Ciaran Murtagh - 1-5 to 0-4 after 29 minutes.

Smith and Ciaran Murtagh pointed either side of Cavan finishes from Barry Smith and Gearoid McKiernan upon the restart before a brace of McKiernan points had the Breffni men level after 42 minutes, 0-10 to 1-7.

Frees from the Murtaghs saw the gap move back out to two before McKiernan and Diarmuid Murtagh exchanged scores. Barry Reilly made it a one-point match with seven minutes left.

In a dramatic finish, Martin Reilly twice knocked over Cavan equalisers to ensure Terry Hyland's charges of a share of the spoils.
