Mayo county board have confirmed that Keith Higgins WILL NOT be retiring from inter-county football.
The Mayo dual star indicated earlier today that he had retired after tweeting "#callingitaday" and a message thanking everyone for their support.
However, the Mayo board have since issued a tweet confirming that Higgins will be lining out with the Connacht champions in 2015, which reads:
"Thankfully we can say that Keith Higgins HAS NOT retired from Inter-County Football and we're looking forward to seeing him back soon!"
Neither the county board nor player has yet explained why the erroneous information was put into the public domain.
