Former greats Donal Franks and Barry Whelehan celebrate another Birr success

Former Offaly star Donal Franks has been appointed Naas's new senior hurling manager.

Franks, who won multiple Offaly, Leinster and All-Ireland honours with the club during a successful playing career, takes over the post from Morgan Lalor.

In the past, Franks has managed Rahan-parish side Shamrocks, Westmeath kingpins Clonkill and Birr in Offaly.

Naas last captured the Kildare SHC in 2002 and lined-out in the county U21 final earlier this month, losing out to Celbridge in the decider.
