Pat Clancy and Eddie Casey have been appointed to new Westmeath hurling manager Michael Ryan's management team.

The pair will act as selectors to the Waterford native, who succeeded Brian Hanley as manager last month.

Brownstown clubman Clancy was a star of the talented Westmeath team that came close to making a major breakthrough in the mid-1980s, and has since managed a host of club teams as well as the Louth senior hurlers. He has also been involved with the Westmeath minors in recent years.

Casey played senior football with Mullingar Shamrocks and Westmeath in the 1990s and has also hurled for and managed St. Oliver Plunkett's. He is the owner of the sportswear manufacturing company KC Sports, which is the official kit supplier to several GAA teams.
