St Vincent's success in winning county, provincial and national titles last year will count for nothing when they line up against Oliver Plunkett's on Monday night, according to half-forward Gavin Burke.

The Marino outfit will put their Dublin SFC title on the line in Parnell Park (7.45pm throw-in) and, speaking to dublingaa.ie, Burke insisted: "We have forgotten about last year. This is a new season, and that is all we are thinking about.

"As far as we are concerned, last year is irrelevant now. We are just fully concentrating on the final. It will be a great occasion. It's good to be back in the county final. It's a nice achievement for the club and where else would you want to be in October.

"We are keeping the journey going. It's game by game. That's how we approach it. The standards have gone up again this year. And we have to raise our own level to meet those standards."
