Eire Og, Ennis 0-11

Cratloe are celebrating an historic Clare SFC and SHC double after early goals from Conor McGrath and Podge Collins set them up for a comfortable football final victory over Eire Og at Cusack Park, Ennis.

Showing no ill-effects from their hurling win over Crusheen seven days ago, the Blues became the first club since 1914 to complete the elusive double on the field of play. They were well on their way to retaining the Jack Daly Cup when Collins teed up McGrath for the first goal before bagging the second himself.

Those scores helped them to a 2-4 to 0-2 lead at the end of the first quarter, but the Townies battled back to trail by 0-8 to 2-6 at the break.

Colm Collins' charges grabbed the first three points of the second half to tighten their grip on proceedings.  Veteran Limerick midfielder John Galvin, who was a late addition to their starting line-up, got in on the scoring act as Cratloe eventually won by seven points, with Collins bagging 1-4 in a man of the match display.
