Cork's Aidan Walsh says he will not be making be making himself available in a dual role for the county again.

Walsh has conceded that lining out for both Cork's senior footballers and hurlers in 2014 saw him unable to give either side 100 per cent and says it's now time for him to make a choice with regards to which code he want to play for the Rebels.

"It's something I can look back on and say I did it, but I don't think I have any intention of doing again it for the coming year, or for the rest of my career," Walsh told the Irish Independent.

The demands on inter-county players in the modern game have seen a number or former dual players having to commit to just one sport in recent years and Walsh admitted that there were times this year when he struggled.

"I suppose it was very difficult when it came to the All-Ireland series, especially when we won the Munster hurling championship and it was a massive high," he said.

"Then I had to go back to the football. I played the Sligo game, played the Mayo game and had two weeks to prepare for the Tipperary game.

"It's not enough to prepare for an All-Ireland semi-final and my performance showed that on the field. I was lethargic and tired and I just wasn't up to the pace of it.

"I'm not saying it's the reason that I played badly, that I didn't get enough preparation. But it is certainly a factor."
