Western Gaels and St. Faithleach's booked their places in the last four of the Roscommon SFC yesterday.

The Gaels withstood a second half comeback by Castlerea St. Kevin's to win by 0-14 to 1-8. The Frenchpark outfit led by 0-10 to 0-2 at the break, but with former county man Ger Heneghan to the fore, Castlerea fought back and Peter Farrell's late fisted goal set up a tense finale.

In their quarter-final replay, St. Faithleach's produced a turbo-charged finish to edge out Roscommon Gaels on a 0-13 to 1-9 scoreline. The Ballyleague club, who had needed a late equaliser to force the replay, scored the last five points to shade it.

Meanwhile, this year's Roscommon SHC final will be contested by Four Roads and Athleague. In yesterday's semi-finals at Athleague, the host club defeated Oran 2-14 to 2-12, while Four Roads had just a point to spare, 0-17 to 1-13, over a battling Padraig Pearses side.
