It appears that Armagh's media ban is to come to an end in advance of their All-Ireland SFC quarter-final clash against Donegal on Saturday.

Members of the media have received notification of a press night to be held in the Carrickdale Hotel tomorrow (Wednesday) and it should spell the end of the media ban which has been in force since the aftermath of their acrimonious Ulster SFC quarter-final against Cavan. Assistant-manager Peter McDonnell and captain Ciaran McKeever will be in attendance.

Manager Paul Grimley and McDonnell have only spoken to a chosen few media outlets since and last week McDonnell revealed the reason behind their vow of silence: "We would strongly feel that we have been disrespected and dismissed and portrayed inaccurately.

"A false impression is created and sought to be created - and not just during this year, but during previous years.

"And to that end, until resolution is achieved there will be a coolness and, indeed, an absolute and total failure to communicate with certain elements of the media."
