Galway captain Paul Conroy has stressed that they are not going to Croke Park just to make up the numbers.

The Tribesmen are rated as massive outsides to see off the challenge of Kerry in their All-Ireland SFC quarterfinal on Sunday afternoon.

Conroy is confident that if Galway play to their true capabilities then they can cause an upset and he has urged his team mates to rise to the occasion.

"We know ourselves that we have quality players," Conroy told the Connacht Tribune. "We're not going up there to fulfil the fixture. We're going up there to win the game - there's no doubt about that.

"We'll have to be at our best to beat them. Playing Kerry in Croke Park is the benchmark. I know where you're coming from in terms of the pressure being off us compared with the Tipperary game, but we are putting a lot of pressure on ourselves to get the right performance that will win the Kerry game."
