Marren keen on Flanagan stay

Pat Flanagan.
Sligo captain Adrian Marren has stressed that all the players are behind manager Pat Flanagan.

The Yeats County's campaign came to an end last Saturday evening when Cork defeated them in the All-Ireland senior football championship qualifiers.

And as always when a county team's championship campaign comes to an end, there is speculation over the future of the manager.

Flanagan admitted that he wasn't sure if he would be there for another term, but Marren states in the Sligo Champion that he would like to see him stay.

"I would like to see Pat Flanagan stay on," said Marren. "Pat has freshened things up this year and all the boys got in behind him. I know he was a late appointment and we might have been playing 'catch up' but it's a great achievement to get into the last 12 of the All-Ireland series.

"If it's to be done the decision should be made sooner rather than later. It would really want to be done in the next week or two and get it out of the way and we can focus on next year."
