Creedon keen to continue

Peter Creedon has signalled his intent to remain in charge of the Tipperary footballers.

The West Cork native's term as manager ended with Saturday night's All-Ireland SF qualifier defeat to Galway, but when asked if he would be interested in continuing he replied: "I would probably say 'yes'.

"But I do have a busy life and other factors outside of that must be given consideration as well. It is nearly gone to a stage where inter-county managers need to be retired or working at it full-time.

"Maybe the players deserve a person that might be able to give it more time as well."

Tipp have had a great year and Creedon could take further encouragement from the never-say-die attitude his players showed in paring Galway's lead back to five points by the final whistle.

"If you'd told me at half-time we'd kick 4-5 in the second half, we'd have thought we'd win it," he said.

"But it was a strange game and we've been involved in a few this year. We had a chance midway through the first half where we should have gone six or seven points ahead of Galway, but we didn't take the opportunity.

"Then we had one really bad turnover before half-time when the scores were level, Galway capitalised on it and got their first goal. We were working hard form then on to get back into the game.

"But the lads showed fantastic character. They were 12, 13, 14 points down and they could have crawled into the game, but they didn't."
