Ryan hails Kildare's belief

Jason Ryan attributed Kildare's comeback victory over Clare to the belief that's in the side.

"They believed in themselves, they wanted to win and they stuck at it," the manager said after the Lilywhites scored the last seven points to avoid a shock defeat at Cusack Park.

"They believed they were going to get score after score and they did that.

"In the first half, we didn't perform. All of our defenders had a really good first half and unfortunately when we got over the halfway line, in the areas we've been really happy with all year, it just didn't happen.

"I think we have to give credit to Clare, they got bodies there and we struggled.

"In the second half, we showed a lot more patience and composure on the ball and we used the ball much better. Even when Clare had a lot of bodies back, we showed a lot of patience and kept recycling the ball and waited for an opportunity."

He added: "It's another learning experience for the guys and I'm really proud of them today."
