Colin Walshe will put his friendship with Jamie Clarke to one side on Saturday evening when Monaghan and Armagh will do battle for a place in the Ulster SFC final.

The All Star corner back is expected to be given the task of marking the Armagh dangerman, who he shared a house with during their time together in UUJ.

"When you look through the Armagh side, they have a lot of top-class forwards," Walshe tells the Irish News.

"But Jamie Clarke probably always gets the mention as the most recognisable forward threat in their team. I lived with Jamie in university and I marked him in the league, but whether or not Malachy (O'Rourke) goes with that again remains to be seen.

"I would never have classed myself as a man-marker when I was called up to the Monaghan team if I'm honest. It's something that was kind of thrown upon me a few seasons ago, but I'm just grateful to be in the starting line-up. I'd be happy to do any job for a jersey.

"Malachy tends to do his match-ups game to game so I'm not sure at this stage whether or not I will be picking Jamie up or not, but if we are paired together it will be just about getting to the next round."
