Cavan will be without Killian Clarke for the championship if, as expected, the UUJ student decides to spend the summer in the US.

score.ie is reporting that the All Star-nominated corner back is considering heading Stateside as soon as the college year ends. It's understood that Cavan manager Terry Hyland has been trying to persuade Clarke to remain at home for the duration of the Breffni County's championship campaign, which begins with an Ulster SFC quarter-final against Armagh at the Athletic Grounds on June 8.

A Cavan official insisted that Clarke hadn't made his mind up yet: "He still hasn't decided - that's our understanding. So that's something I can't answer because we don't know, but it's something we'll know very shortly."
