Waterford didn't show any ill-effects from their recent injury crisis as they dished out a 27-point drubbing to Offaly at the St. Molleran's GAA grounds yesterday.

Deise boss Derek McGrath has a host of injuries to contend with ahead of Sunday week's Munster SHC quarter-final against Cork, but he will have taken huge encouragement from this win, albeit achieved against an Offaly side that also lost heavily to All-Ireland champions Clare in a separate challenge match in Killaloe on Friday evening.

Colin Dunford and Seamus Prendergast both found the net twice, while Brian O'Sullivan and Killian Fitzgerald also raised green flags in a one-sided affair which was effectively over at half-time with the hosts leading by 2-16 to 0-6.

Dunford, who won a Croke Cup medal with Dungarvan Colleges last year, will be pushing hard for a starting place against Cork after bagging 2-2 against a hapless Offaly outfit who have a lot of improving to do before they meet Kilkenny in the Leinster SHC quarter-final on June 7.
