Meyler welcomes busy schedule

Kerry hurling manager John Meyler
Carlow manager John Meyler admits that he is looking forward to the next four weeks as the Barrowsiders embark on their Leinster SHC round robin series.

Over the next four weeks, Carlow will play four championship games starting with London on Sunday at Ruislip. They following week Antrim travel to Dr Cullen Park; a week later Carlow travel to O'Moore Park to take on Laois and then their last match of the round robin series is against Westmeath at home.

It is a hectic schedule that many managers would condemn, but not Meyler, who feels that since the Division 2A league final defeat to Kerry, the players have responded positively.

Speaking to the Carlow Nationalist he said: "We have had a very positive response since the Kerry game. We're all disappointed but we know what happened and we just have to get it out of our system.

"This is championship hurling. Four matches in four Sundays, it's going to be extremely hard but they have trained very well. That's the way it is."
