Kerry manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice believes that Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne's Hogan Cup victory is massive for the future of Kerry football.

Fitzmaurice, who is flying out to Portugal with the rest of the Kerry squad for a warm weather training camp today (Thursday) managed Pobalscoil to Hogan Cup glory at Croke Park last Saturday.

The Kerry side produced an excellent second half to take the title from St Patrick's Maghera and Fitzmaurice told the Kerryman that it was a huge boost for football in the county.

"In the short term this is a boost for the Kerry minors," said Fitzmaurice. "I've seen what's out there at Colleges level, there are some good footballers coming through and I don't think there's any need for people to panic about where the county is heading."
