Meath's Eamonn Wallace goes down injured against Louth in the Leinster U21 FC replay at Pairc Tailteann
Eamon Wallace's season has been ended after it was confirmed that the attacker suffered cruciate ligament damage during Wednesday night's Leinster U21FC win over Louth.

The Ratoath clubman sustained the injury in the early minutes of the replay against the Wee County and continued on before being substituted on the ten minute mark.

Officials confirmed this morning to hoganstand.com that the player has been diagnosed with an ACL injury having undergone a scan yesterday.

Wallace broke onto the Meath team last year and was an ever present during Mick O'Dowd's first term with the side, with his athletics background a huge plus.

He is the latest player in a matter of weeks, after Colm Cooper and Ciaran Kilkenny, to suffer from a similar season ending diagnosis.
