Labour TD to Club Kildare's rescue

Labour TD Jack Wall
Labour TD Jack Wall is poised to take over as chairman of Club Kildare.
The Irish Independent reports that the former county board chairman is expected to take over the reins of the Lilywhites fundraising arm at its AGM tomorrow night and, in doing so, will save it from an uncertain future.
Club Kildare was rocked in recent weeks by the resignation of all outgoing officers with the exception of county board treasurer Martin Whyte.
The outgoing officers clashed with the county board on a number of issues and many of them took the decision not to seek re-election.
A major fundraising 'testimonial' for former players Dermot Earley and Ronan Sweeney was abandoned by Club Kildare after it clashed with a separate board fundraiser that raised a much smaller amount than the €100,000 they expected to generate.
The county board's decision to decline a lucrative offer from Kukri Ireland and remain with O'Neills is also understood to have been a cause of division between the two bodies.
