Carey in Deise frame
September 23, 2013

Kilkenny legend DJ Carey.
DJ Carey is in the running to become the next Waterford hurling manager.
The Irish Examiner is reporting that the Kilkenny legend - who recently returned to playing hurling with his club's junior team after a much-publicised health scare - will be nominated for the post at tonight's county board meeting.
Former selector Paraic Fanning, De La Salle manager Derek McGrath and Michael Ryan - who was ousted following a players' heave last month - are also expected to be in the hat.
Assuming they are interested, they will be interviewed by a six-man committee comprising county board chairman Tom Cunningham, secretary Timmy O'Keeffe, vice-chairman John O'Leary, treasurer Joe Cleary and former players Stephen Frampton and James Murray.
