Mayo have responded to claims that they were in cahoots with Monaghan ahead of the Ulster final.

Donegal's assistant-manager Rory Gallagher claimed yesterday that the Connacht champions - who will provide opposition to the All-Ireland champions in Sunday's quarter-final at Croke Park - had given the Farney County some tips on how they could beat the Tir Chonail in the northern provincial decider.

"I don't know what sort of thinking the Donegal camp are coming up with there," Mayo PRO Aiden McLoughlin says in today's Irish Examiner in response to Gallagher's claims.

"That just wouldn't be happening. It's well documented the counties played in a tough and physical challenge match the week before the Ulster and Connacht finals.

"It was a productive game for the Mayo camp and from what I hear Monaghan were of the same thinking. That's as much 'collusion' as what went on.

"All we're looking forward to is the challenge of an All-Ireland quarter-final and, whether it is Donegal or any other team, we are preparing for it in the manner we always would."
