Cork's Patrick Horgan has been cleared to play against Kilkenny in next Sunday's All-Ireland hurling quarter-final.
Horgan appealed to the Central Hearings Committee (CHC) who rescinded the straight red card he received from Westmeath referee James McGrath just before half-time in last Sunday's Munster final defeat to Limerick.
The Glen Rovers man's hurl made contact with the back of opponent Paudie O'Brien's helmet, but it was widely felt that there was no malice involved and a yellow card would have been sufficient punishment.
A straight red card automatically carries a one-match ban, but Horgan's successful appeal means he is now eligible to face the Cats in Thurles.
