Roche Emmets GFC have claimed a prestigious place in the Guinness Book of Records.

On Sunday, the Faughart club broke the record for the largest number of people to participate simultaneously in a training session on one pitch.

A grand total of 1,204 hardy souls were put through their paces for a gruelling 30-minute work-out at Roche Park.

Exactly how many of these are available for selection this weekend is unknown at present!

The successful record-breaking quest was combined with an Og Sport football Blitz and a fun / sports day for kids to make it a Father's Day to remember for the Wee County club.

The previous record of 1,189 participants had been achieved by Na Fianna of Dublin in May, 2012. Tweet
