McIver expecting Wexford battle
01 March 2013
Derry manager Brian McIver. INPHO
Brian McIver expects the hosts to put it up to his Derry side at Wexford Park on Sunday.
The Oak Leafers travel south for a vital Division Two clash and the Derry boss saw enough in Armagh last Saturday night - as the Model County roared into a 3-1 to 0-1 lead - to know the visitors won't have things all their own way:
"They came to the Athletic Grounds and produced a first-half display which marked them out as a very dangerous opponent," McIver comments in The Irish News.
"They were very unlucky not to win that game, which would have been a great result for them. We are going to Wexford knowing full well that not too many teams get a result there.
"We will have to be prepared. Wexford have been consistently strong for four or five years now and we will be in for a battle."
