Regina, Canada host Inaugural General Meeting

February 26, 2013
Regina, Saskatchewan.

Located within the northern peripheral of the North American great plains, this historically nonchalant province, sandwiched between the oil fields of Alberta and the great Canadian shield, has seen something of an insouciant renaissance in its fortunes over the last number of years. A blossoming economy as well as an acute skilled labour shortage has seen a huge influx of Irish immigrants into the area.

With the numbers of Irish coming to the area increasing every month, and the lack of any GAA presence in the province, a few members of the community here have come together with the aim of establishing the first GAA club in the province.

So it is with great pleasure that the GAA in the City of Regina or Cathair an Banrion, if you will, can announce that they will be holding their inaugural General Meeting on Tuesday March 5th at 8pm, in O'Hanlon's Irish Bar

This historic meeting will see the election of the club's first Executive Committee, as well as the selection of a club name and colours. Anyone with an interest in any aspect of the GAA are encouraged to attend, in what will surely be an important date for the Irish community here in Regina, and Saskatchewan.
