Bye, George

February 22, 2013

Westmeath's Trevor English and Seanie Daly close in on Dublin's Sean George during the Leinster semi final at Portlaoise.
Sean George won't be named in the DIT team to face DCU this afternoon.

The Ballymun Kickhams defender would be a big addition to DIT in today's Sigerson Cup semi-final at Athlone IT but management have opted to leave him out as he could incur a suspension.

The college side claim that they have been threatened that if they play George then he could face a lengthy ban. This is because he is understood to have registered for a previous course in Waterford IT, which he never actually attended.

But, as he also represented IT Carlow in the past, he is in danger of falling foul of the new three-course rule that snookered DCU duo Aidan Walsh and Michael Boyle.

The player featured as a substitute in the preliminary-round win over NUIG on February 5th but cannot be banned retrospectively. He missed the quarter-final due to club commitments.
