Connacht GAA Centre - Official Opening

The Connacht GAA centre.
Connacht GAA will tomorrow open their new state of the art Connacht GAA Centre at Cloonacurry, Bekan, Claremorris, Co Mayo.

The centre, which is located within 40 minutes of 90 of the Province's clubs, cost €8m to construct, half of which came from central GAA funds including those monies generated by the rental of Croke Park for soccer and rugby matches.

After the completion of two phases to date, the centre includes five full size Prunty pitches, One 3G full size pitch, floodlighting for five of the six pitches and parking for 400 cars and 20 buses.

It also includes all modern ancillary back up facilities associated with all aspects of the the preparation of top inter-county teams.

It will cater for county, club, school and academy teams as well as the training and upskilling of referees and coaches.
