Former Tipperary great Declan Browne
Two-time Tipperary football All Star Declan Browne has retired from all levels of football.

The gifted forward, who retired from the inter-county scene in 2007 after a long battle with injuries, played his last game for Moyle Rovers in their county league final defeat to Eire Og in Ballyporeen last weekend.

Paying tribute to the 34-year-old, who is regarded as one of the Premier County's greatest footballers, county football board chairman Noel Morris said: "He has given a lifetime of service to Moyle Rovers, Tipperary, Munster and Ireland at International Rules. Perhaps his proudest day was in Croke Park and scoring the goal when captaining Tipperary to win the Tommy Murphy Cup (against Wexford in 2005)."

In a glittering career, Browne won All Stars awards in 1998 and 2003, seven Tipperary SFC medals, All-Ireland minor and intermediate hurling titles in 1996 and 2000, a Munster MFC medal in 1995 and a Tommy Murphy Cup in 2005. He also represented Ireland in the International Rules series in 2003 and 2004.
