Cavan GAA wishes Seanie Johnston "all the best" after the player's transfer to Kildare.

Johnston finally sealed his switch from Cavan Gaels to St Kevin's, Staplestown close to midnight on Wednesday and Breffni PRO Declan Woods confirms in today's Irish News that Cavan GAA has "no issue" with this:

"Very simply, we said at all times that we are a member of the Gaelic Athletic Association and whatever decision was sent down from Croke Park we would accept that.

"Nobody ever put in an official objection. Observations were made, clarification sought, but never an official objection put in and some time ago Cavan moved on from this.

"We would wish Seanie all the best of luck. As far as the Cavan County Board is concerned, the matter is now closed.

"There is no issue with this. Seanie has moved on. Cavan has moved on and all we are concerned about - and concentrating all our efforts on - - after the championship match against Donegal is our next match, in about five weeks, in the All-Ireland Qualifiers."
