Collins taking nothing for granted
May 19, 2012
Limerick's defeat to Waterford in the penultimate round of this year's Allianz League has Ger Collins on red alert ahead of tomorrow's Munster SFC first round rematch at the Gaelic Grounds.
Speaking to The Irish Independent, the corner forward recalled: "We played them in the Gaelic Grounds, it was actually a double-header with the hurlers against Offaly.
"Waterford had the two O'Gormans (Maurice and Thomas) back at that stage, they are a big strong physical team and they actually have a very good record against us in the league - they've beaten us more often than not."
While their talisman John Galvin is currently sidelined after suffering a recurrence of his cruciate ligament injury, Limerick are able to welcome back Tom Lee and Andrew Lane for tomorrow's clash.
"We were struggling with a lot of injuries and stuff earlier this year, but all the lads have been working really hard to get back and hopefully we'll be stronger now. And the earlier problems gave some other lads a chance to impress," the Monaleen clubman added.
