Westmeath's Denis Glennon under pressure from Michael Fanning of Louth during the 2010 Leinster SFC clash at Croke Park
Denis Glennon has shaken off a back injury to be included in the Westmeath team for Sunday's Leinster SFC opener against Louth.
The former captain suffered the injury while playing for Tyrrellspass against Garrycastle in the first round of the Westmeath SFC three weeks ago, but has recovered in time to take his place in the full forward line alongside younger brother David and St. Loman's clubman Paul Sharry, who could swap places with veteran Michael Ennis, who is named at centre back after missing last year's championship.
The Garrycastle trio of John Gaffey, Doron Harte and James Dolan come back into the starting line-up after missing the Allianz League campaign due to their All-Ireland club commitments. Gaffey is named at full back in the absence of DCU's Sigerson Cup winning captain Kieran Gavin, who hasn't even made the substitutes because of a long-standing quad muscle injury.
Westmeath (SF v Louth): G Connaughton (captain); M Curley, J Gaffey, K Maguire; D Harte, M Ennis, D McDermott; P Bannon, J Heslin; K Martin G Egan, J Dolan; Denis Glennon, David Glennon, P Sharry.
