Louth boss confident

Louth manager Peter Fitzpatrick at Pairc Tailteann
Peter Fitzpatrick believes Louth have what it takes to see off Westmeath.

Both teams impressed in Division Two during the Spring and Wee County boss Fitzpatrick told The Dundalk Democrat ahead of their first-round Leinster SFC meeting at Navan on Sunday:

"To be honest, I'm confident of beating Westmeath. I think we've a good enough team to beat Westmeath and if we can do we've a good chance against Dublin.

"I think we owe Dublin one from 2010 when we played them after the Leinster final and I felt we didn't do ourselves justice."

But...

"We're not looking beyond the Westmeath match. It's going to be a very tough match.

"I was talking to Pat Flanagan a couple of weeks ago and he is very happy with the way things are going.

"Whichever team gets the breaking ball in the middle and the wee bit of possession will win the game.

"If we play the way we played against Meath, it'll take a very good team to beat us at the moment."
