FL2: Westmeath fall to Wee County
February 05, 2012

Louth's Ronan Carroll and Adrian Ried with Michael Curley of Westmeath during the NFL Div 2 game at Haggardstown
Paddy Keenan inspired Louth to a 0-12 to 1-6 defeat of Westmeath at Haggardstown.
The winners looked dangerous from the off but Adrian Reid was penalised for overcarrying after creating a decent goal-scoring opportunity.
Points from Darren Clarke (free) and his former Ardee, St Mary's clubmate Ronan Clarke had the Wee County up and running. But Trevor English pointed before Callum McCormack hit the net to put the Lake County in front, 1-1 to 0-2.
The Reds battled back and Keenan's point had them back in front. But the midlanders landed two scores in quick succession to move back in front, 1-3 to 0-5 at half time.
The lead changed hands again as Darren Clarke and inspirational captain Keenan - making his 100th intercounty appearance - hit the target.
The Wee County now had the bit between their teeth and veteran sub Aaron Hoey supplied their fifth successive score - 0-10 to 1-4. Keenan's fourth point made it a four-point match in the end.
