Cavan Gaels are believed to have signed Seanie Johnston's transfer form.

Though the club refused to confirm that they had agreed to the former Cavan sharpshooter's proposed transfer to Kildare club, St Kevin's, they issued a tweet after their management committee met on Wednesday night, saying: "It is the policy of Cavan Gaels GAA club not to stand in the way of transfer requests from any of our players."

If the club transfer request has been agreed, that could potentially pave the way for an intercounty transfer to Kildare.

However, any switch to the Lilywhites would still not be a formailty. The Central Competitions Control Committee will still hold a hearing after Cavan County Board raised concerns about the player's declared permanent residence in Straffan. Tweet
