St.Brigid's' Shane Supple lifts the Dublin SFC Cup at Parnell Park
St. Brigid's goalkeeper Shane Supple has withdrawn from the Dublin football squad less than a month after joining it.
The former Ipswich Town 'stopper, who captained St. Brigid's to last year's Dublin SFC title and to a Leinster club final appearance against Garrycastle, was called up by Dubs boss Pat Gilroy after impressing in the Blanchardstown club's successful campaign. He started Dublin's O'Byrne Cup victory over UCD, but has decided to opt out ahead of Saturday's glamour NFL opener against Kerry at Croke Park.
Supple's decision means Michael Savage will once again be the only competition to Stephen Cluxton for the number one jersey this year.
