Hurling to get Superbowl exposure
January 26, 2012
Thousands of American football fans will be exposed to hurling for the first time in the build-up to Sunday week's Superbowl XLVI in Indianapolis.
The Indianapolis hurling club has been invited by the NFL's organising committee to form part of the Super Bowl Village entertainment next Tuesday - five days before the big clash of the New England Patriots and the New York Giants. The decider is a repeat of the 2009 final in which the Giants pulled off a shock victory.
The club, which was founded in 2006, will put on hurling demonstrations where fans can try their hand at swinging a hurl. TV sports network ESPN will be broadcasting live from the village.
