Highly rated Athy midfielder Kevin Feely will not be joining the Kildare senior squad this year.

Feely, who played an integral part in Athy's county final success last year was tipped to be part of Kieran McGeeney's squad, but the talented soccer player will line out in the League of Ireland instead.

The 19-year-old is on the books at Bohemians, but a number of clubs are believed to be interested in signing the teenager. However, he has made himself available for the Kildare under-21 side.

The DCU student, who also lines out for the college hurling team is a talented sportsman and would have been a welcome addition to the senior football panel. Tweet
